What kind of food can we expect for dinner?
Well, of course we've got some great Texas BBQ including beef brisket, pulled pork sliders and baby back ribs. We've got a wide-array of food options from a salad station and Texas toast, to barbecue baked beans and macaroni and cheese. And of course, we cannot have any event at Dodger Stadium without serving a Dodger staple- Dodger Dogs. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied with a full ice cream sundae bar, and a selection of desserts from banana cream pie, peach cobbler and fresh berries with cream.
Can you tell me more interesting facts about the country performer, Pat Green?
Pat Green is a Grammy-nominated hit-maker, a Texas inspiration, and a mainstream country artist who can rock arena and stadium stages with the likes of Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney. His acoustic performance will be incredible in this intimate concert setting. He has co-written songs with Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Jewel and Rob Thomas. And become a concert force in his own right, regularly selling out venues from Los Angeles to New York, where he's now sold out his last 7 appearances. You can hear his songs and read more about this incredible performer at www.patgreen.com.
What kind of memorabilia can we bring into the event to get autographed?
This is a family-friendly event, and we want the Dodger players who attend to have just as much fun with their families as we want you to have! We ask that you only bring in ONE piece of merchandise to be signed (not per player; ONE single item per ticket). We will have security at the door checking bags to make sure there is only one autographed item per person attending the event. Thank you for understanding!
Is this a good event to bring my children to?
Absolutely! We hope that this will be an evening you share with your family. We will have tons of activities catered towards children. And adults will have fun learning how to line dance, hearing an amazing concert performed by Pat Green, and dining on some incredible Texas BBQ!
What should I bring with me to the event?
You do not need to bring a ticket; we will have your name on the guest list at the front entrance. If you have not yet paid, please bring appropriate cash, check, and/or credit card to the event. We have a hosted bar, but all raffle tickets and silent auction items can be purchased with cash or credit cards. Only ONE memorabilia item that can be autographed per person. Feel free to bring cameras to the event to take pictures of how much fun you are having! However, please be respectful of players' and celebrities' time and families so that all can enjoy the event.
What does the VIP reception entail?
VIP reception will take place on the warning track on the field of Dodger Stadium.
The VIP reception will be a more intimate environment to mingle with Clayton and other participating teammates.
We will have a professional photographer there to take pictures of you with Clayton.
We will have a hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres.
VIP reception will take place from 5:30-6:30pm, and then guests will be escorted over to the main Hoedown event.
Where will the BBQ and Hoedown take place?
The BBQ and Hoedown will take place in Lot 6 - located just past centerfield at Dodger Stadium. We will have a gorgeous white tent and patio set up to create a shabby chic, country western atmosphere.
Is there a different price for children?
The price of tickets is the same regardless of your age. There are fun activities for all ages!
What are the proceeds of this event going towards?
Every dollar earned from this event will go towards Kershaw's Challenge and the children's charities it supports, as well as the Dodgers Dream Foundation. Kershaw's Challenge began in 2011 by Clayton and Ellen Kershaw for the sole purpose of building a home for vulnerable orphans affected by AIDS & HIV in Lusaka, Zambia. Clayton pledged to donate $100 for each batter he struck out. With the generous help of donors who shared shared their passion and vision for giving back to others, Hope's Home is near completion and children will be moving in this fall. During this 2012 baseball season, Kershaw's Challenge has expanded to four different charities, all who share a heart for serving underprivileged children from Africa to Los Angeles. Clayton continues "Striking out to Serve," and is thrilled that other people and players have joined this movement to be a part of something much greater than ourselves. About seventy percent of proceeds from Kershaw's Challenge will go to Arise Africa to complete and furnish Hope's Home. The rest of the proceeds will be donated to the other Kershaw's Challenge benefactors: Peacock Foundation based out of Los Angeles, Mercy Street in Dallas, and the nationwide ministry called I Am Second. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Dodger Dream Foundation. For more information on these charities, please visit: www.KershawsChallenge.com
